Journey in Logo Designs

Even though I have more creativity than I have blood, art design never has and will never be my strong suit. I accept that, and through accepting that, I have saved myself from enduring heartaches, headaches and mind blaring symphonies of internal screaming.

You can tell me you are an artist without revealing that a large portion of your personality is stress. Not unless you are a good dame liar.  I couldn’t imagine my life attempting to make a living off drawing without an abundance of stress.

Because of that, I outsourced my logo design with a website called 99desgin. It’s not an unknown site but not the most popular either I will leave a link at the bottom. On 99desgin, I hosted a contest where designer submitted their designers.

When the first submission came to my heart lept from my chest.  Ready to claim my winner, I clicked the link in my email.  My heart went from a fast past drum solo to a slow melody. The first submission wasn’t awful. It was creative.

The designer used a pen and paired it with a cloud. I thought it was clever. But I knew it wasn’t my style.  It wasn’t my logo.  Taking a deep breath, I took a second look at it, finding more potential in but less reason to pick it. I decided to send the designer a message with my honest feedback.  To my pleasant surprise, the designer has a graceful response, and later, toward the artist sent me a few more designs.

Unease plagued my day as the submission came in slow. I worried that all my hope would be pinned on one artist's ability to represent me in one design. With less than a day left I was running out of time to find my logo. I thought this would be a failed quest.

Then, I found it. I found a design I could envision as my logo.  The artist Frananda submitted something eye-catching that well deserved a 5-star review. The design became one of my finalists. I ended up sending a link to my website to the artist not expecting too much. Frananda blew me away with a slight revision of the design. By changing the colors, the details popped. The moment I saw it was the moment I knew I found my logo.
